  - Job Description The Fleet Mechanic 2 is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing Company fleet equipment to include, class 1-8 diesel and gasoline trucks, trailers, pallet jacks, and forklifts by performing the essential job duties. What your day will look like:
  • Perform various preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on all types of fleet equipment
  • Troubleshoots mechanical and electronic malfunctions, perform all types of repairs, rebuild/replace major equipment components
  • Perform emergency roadside services as needed
  • Research and order parts, accurately record usage, and asset in managing stock inventory
  • Complete electronic work orders, ensure all information is recorded in computerized maintenance system
  • Assist team members with troubleshooting & repairs, researching parts, and inspecting equipment
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following all Good Manufacturing Practices -
    - What you need to succeed:
    • Minimum age of 18 years old
    • Class A CDL license preferred
    • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
    • Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
    • Ability to read, write and speak English -
    • Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
    • Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
    • Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
    • Valid driver's license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Advance knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems on light duty, heavy duty and material handling equipment
    • Ability to operate hand tools and others such as bench grinders, torch, drill press, jacks and jack stands, Sawzall, etc. as required to perform work
    • Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
    • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, or flexible schedule as required
    • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities to ensure efficient use of time
    • Ability to work in a positive and productive team environment
    • Frequent vehicle operation, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, overhead reaching, use of PPE special clothing, grasping, pushing, pulling, and frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of up to 50lbs. -
    • Repeated exposure to chemicals, weather, and noise
    • Ability to show initiative, problem solving, technical skills, and demonstrate teamwork
