Position Location : Lake Charles, Louisiana, USAWe are currently recruiting for an HR Consultant.   • Develop and maintain good working relations with all employees to help ensure positive employee relations, includes regular visits throughout working areas
  • Conducts investigations, interviews, and collects data to develop recommendations or conducts disciplinary processes (up to and including termination of employment)
  • Actively participates with management to determine appropriate department guidelines/procedures
  • Active role in maintaining positive employee relations environment as appropriate based on assignment
  • Active role in understanding collective bargaining agreement(s) and active participation in union negotiations as appropriate based on assignment
  • Participate in counseling employees with regards to professional development, employee relations, and discipline procedures
  • Provide advice, recommendations and communication of control systems of compliance and compensation to global HR partners and customers to manage North American region employees
  • Deliver HR training to units/departments
  • Collaborates on the maintenance of organizational charts, job descriptions, employee/position data
  • Prepares documentation for organization changes as required
  • Maintains employee files
  • Facilitates support between the management team and the Corporate Medical Management Team
  • Partners with payroll to resolve payroll concerns or discrepancies
  • Serves as a member of crisis communication team
  • Collaborates with broader HR initiatives, identifying and managing opportunities in the client group and works to support the achievement of the entire HR teams strategic goals
  • Serves as Lead for HR programs (i.e. Performance Management and Talent Development, Succession Management and Mentorship)POLICY ADMINISTRATION
    • Develops, implements and communicates company HR policies and procedures
    • Maintains a working knowledge of company policies for proper administrationTOTAL REWARDS
      • Maintains a working knowledge of all employee benefit plans to be able to communicate and facilitate the process (ie. recognition programs, fitness reimbursements, education reimbursements, etc.) Administers the domestic relocation program for employees and new hires throughout North America
      • Collaborates with compensation support staff to successfully administer compensation initiatives including annual merit delivery, STI, mid-year reviews, etc.EMPLOYMENT
        • Assists talent management team with recruiting, interviewing and selection of new employees
        • Ensures new and existing staffing needs are met with management team
        • Participates in the on-boarding process for newly hired/transferred employees
        • Interacts with employment agency personnel, occupational health facility personnel and other human resources personnel
        • Develops and maintains resources that are useful for employee training and development concerning human resources related topics, and may conduct training sessions as required
        • Develops and maintains employee guidelines for employees
        • May assist with interpretation and administration of collective bargaining agreement(s) in union environments
        • Engages in conflict resolution and/or counsels clients as needed to maintain a safe work environment
        • Conducts investigations, interviews, and collects data to develop recommendations or conducts disciplinary processes
        • Secures appropriate approvals for personnel actions such as, promotion, hire, transfer,Formal Education
          • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business, Behavioral Science or other related field (required)
          • PHR, SPHR, SHRM or related professional human resources certification preferred
          • Master's Degree is a plusWorking Experience
            • 0- 2 years of human resources experience; industry related experience preferredRequired Personal and Professional Skills
              • Ability to work in multi-sites as needed; Travel required
              • Effective interpersonal, oral and writing skills
              • The ability to explain ideas and concepts in a simplified manner
              • Theoretical and practical knowledge to understand solutions and make improvements
              • Demonstrates a trustworthy and confidential professional manner
              • Working knowledge of government regulated policies, i.e. FMLA, Military Leave, ADA, EEOC, etc.
              • Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively
