Description:
Purpose of Job: Responsible for repairing and servicing machinery
under supervision or after a consultation with the direct report.
Essential Job Functions and Performance Standards: Authority Levels
Key :

- Disassemble and evaluate pump as assigned
- Bring pump to work area and identify pump's make model and
serial number
- Acquire Bill Of Material for pump *
- Disassemble, clean and inspect parts for wear or damage per
authority level outlined below Part - Authority Level piston pump
(i.e. - ARO, Alemite) - 1 reciprocating plunger pumps (i.e. - FMC,
Hydroplex, Myers) - 2 diaphragm pump (i.e. - ARO, Wilden) - 1
single stage split case pump (i.e. - Flowserve, Goulds) - 3 small
chemical injection pump (i.e. - Sidewinder, Williams, m-ROY) - 1
vertical turbine pump - 3 single stage ANSI centrifugal pump (i.e.
- Durco, Crane Deming, Goulds) - 1 large chemical injection pump
(i.e. - Milton Roy C & D, Prime Royal) - 2 mechanical seals - 1
large progressive cavity pump (i.e. - Allweiler, Continental) - 3
single stage API centrifugal pump (i.e.- Flowserve HPX) - 2 large
centrifugal multi-stage API pumps - 3 small progressive cavity pump

- Write repair worksheet on needed parts*
- Gather all parts, properly box and store, tagging with the job
number
- Assemble and test pumps as assigned
- Verify parts match the part numbers on repair worksheet*
- Perform light cleaning if necessary
- Assemble pump per authority level outlined below Part -
Authority Level piston pump (i.e. - ARO, Alemite) - 1 vertical

- Perform Quality Assurance QA test on repaired pump
- Paint pump if necessary
- Request Quality Check at designated hold points along with the
final QC/QA (must be performed by another tech who is at least
level B)
- Complete necessary forms with final data and photos*
- Remove and install pumps in the field
- Follow safety protocols of customer (i.e. lock out/tag out and
close valves)
- Uncouple pump or equipment, remove from system and load for
shipment to shop per authority level outlined below Part -

- Complete checklist on installation, i.e. - rotation, fluids,
alignment
- Conduct Quality Assurance QA and/or performance test on
repaired pump once it is installed when applicable
- Rebuild pump in the field
- Ensure parts are correct*
- Follow customer safety protocol
- Ensure utilization of proper tools for the job
- Disassemble, repair and reassemble pump if necessary per
authority level outlined below Part - Authority Level piston pump

- Check pump and motor alignment with B tech or higher
supervision
- Conduct Quality Assurance QA and/or performance test on
repaired pump once it is installed when applicable.
- Assist customer with starting of new pump
- Travel to customer location
- Check fluid, alignment, motor rotation and perform pump start
up per manufacturers' IOM manuals or API 610 /686 standards per
authority level outlined in the chart below Part - Authority Level

- Save readings on laser tool
- Write a complete and through parts list when disassembling a
pump to assist the appropriate personnel with pricing and quoting
the repair
- Determine course of action based on precision measurements
(i.e., micrometers/indicators)
- Assist in field repair of equipment as needed
- Use technical drawings/references to disassemble and reassemble
equipment
- On a daily basis, conduct a forklift inspection, shop vehicle
inspection, and PPE inspection to ensure equipment is in safe
operating status
- Maintain a clean and neat working environment at all times
- Service the work truck on a quarterly basis
- Disassemble and reassemble equipment and shop tools on a daily
basis
- Perform additional duties as assigned Work Environment:
