JOB SUMMARY/OVERVIEW The Staff Reporting Developer will be working with the Enterprise Information Systems team to maintain and develop reporting solutions to support our Analytics platform. The candidate will need to understand business and technical requirements and translate this into reporting designs and deliverables. The solutions must align with EDW, DataMart and reporting standards and guidelines. The reporting solutions will be based on Tableau with Oracle data warehouses/databases & Informatica for ETL platform. The position also requires supporting the SDLC process in terms of testing, deployment, and post production support. Essential duties/responsibilities * Understand business requirements and convert them into detail technical specifications * Design and Develop reports primarily using Tableau 9.x or higher * Work with Data modeling and ETL teams in providing the data requirements based on reporting requirements. * Performance improvement & tuning of Data extracts for Tableau and SQL scripts used in extracts * Design and create best-in-class data visualizations (reports and dashboards) using tableau * Support the IT Analytics leadership with the understanding of business and data requirements, and iteratively designs visualizations for initial concepts and prototypes that can be presented to customers for feedback * Performs detailed data analysis (i.e. determine the structure, content, and quality of the data through examination of source systems and data samples) * Defines, executes and interprets complex/nested SQL queries * Manages a repository of re-usable data visualization templates and views * Create necessary documentation as per SDLC standards * Update the project documentation (Change Requests and JIRA's) on the confluence * Upload the code to version control tool (GIT) * Perform Unit Testing of reports and support QE on End-to-End testing * Work with deployment team in the code migration across the SDLC environments * Triage the Production issues and work on the code fixes Job requirements and qualifications Education: Bachelors in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent education and/or related work experience. Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates): * Tableau Desktop/Server Certification is preferred Experience: * Minimum 8 years of experience in implementation of BI projects in a large scale enterprise data warehouse environment * 5 years of experience in working with Tableau visualization tool * Knowledge of all Tableau products including Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server * Installed, configured, maintained Tableau Environments; Development and Production * Experience in high volume, transactional environments with third party business system integrations * Strong knowledge of SQL programming, cross database/application joins in Tableau * Experience data ingestion technologies with reference to relational databases primarily Oracle database * Excellent problem solving skills and hands-on experience in deriving actionable business insights through effective analysis of large amounts of internal and external data * Sound knowledge of Data Warehousing Concepts * Ability to interact with a variety of technical and non-technical team members * Understanding of agile development methodology Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Excellent interpersonal skills * Knowledge of JIRA, Confluence Tools and other collaboration tools a plus * Good Team Player WORK ENVIRONMENT/OTHER INFORMATION (Travel required, physical requirements, on-call schedules, etc.) * No travel required * Work in clean, pleasant, and comfortable office setting * The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
