Job Description ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Lafayette, Louisiana. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 04/06/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. Opportunity: /n RN - Med Surg /n/n Job Details: /n • Work on a major trauma unit specializing in neurosurgical and orthopedic trauma cases /n• Patient ratio of 6:1 for days, nights, and weekends /n• 12-hour orientation provided /n• Work every other holiday with weekend coverage required /n• Float requirement - can be pulled to all other inpatient units (agency pulled first) /n• Unable to guarantee specific scheduling requests or block scheduling /n• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including multi-trauma, seizure, GSW, falls, TBI, stroke, sepsis, psychiatric conditions, epidural hematomas, cerebral edema, and orthopedic trauma /n• Neurosurgery experience required /n• Perform special procedures including craniotomy, spinal fusions, ORIF, muscle flaps, skin grafts, amputations, and spinal stimulator management /n• Work with specialized equipment including traction, external fixators, PCA pumps, wound vacs, chest tubes, central lines, and various drains /n• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS (preferred), NIH (preferred) /n• Required skills: Blood product administration, PICC line management, IV starts, pre/post neurosurgery care, TBI management, orthopedic trauma care, surgical drains, chest tubes, isolation precautions /n• Minimum 2 years of experience required with travel experience preferred /n• Must live over 65 miles from facility address /n• Compact or Louisiana license required upon submittal /n• May be assigned to Emergency Team during emergency events with expectation to stay at facility until event passes /n/n Facility: /n This healthcare facility operates a major trauma unit providing comprehensive care for neurosurgical and orthopedic trauma patients. The facility maintains a 24-bed unit with interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and various specialized services.
