Job Description Job Description Salary: $26.00 OR DOE Freedom Behavioral HospitalLake Charles, Louisiana Freedom Behavioral Hospital proudly serves adult and geriatric patients experiencing mental and behavioral health challenges in the Lake Charles community. Our 22-bed acute care psychiatric hospital provides high-quality inpatient and outpatient services, along with specialized treatment programs designed to support stabilization, recovery, and long-term wellness. We are currently seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our clinical team on the Day Shift (7:00 AM 7:00 PM) working a 2/3 block schedule. POSITION SUMMARY: Utilizes assessment scales to identifybasic needs of patients by collecting data andidentifyingdeviations from normal. Effectively communicates pertinent assessment findings with other healthcare members. Accurately and thoroughly document all findings in the patient record. Identifiesexpected outcomes based on assessment data. Implements nursing care interventions identifiedin the individualized multidisciplinary treatment plan using accepted standards of practice in collaboration with other health care providers. The nurse executes nursing procedures and treatments as directed by the physician. Performs vital signs/measurements on patients as ordered and as needed based on nursing judgment and documents same in the medical record. Administers medications utilizing established safety procedures/standards. Accurately communicates/documents medication dosesprescribed. The individual accurately transcribes orders and performs chart audits in accordance with facility guidelines. The individual follows up on patient care responsibilities and communicates incomplete assignments and patient needs with other disciplines to ensure continuity of care. The individual executes additional tasks and projects as assigned. PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Education: Certification from approved Practical Nursing Program License: Licensed as an LPN to practice in the State of Louisiana. Experience: One year of LPN experience preferred. Previous experience with behavioral health and/or geriatrics isstronglypreferred.
