Central and peripheral line care/management - Management of cardiac
and vasoactive drips - Chest tube management - Wound care
experience Description: Ensure traveler is aware that upon
accepting an assignment and starting the role, the unit manager may
assign you to an "Emergency Team." There will be an expectation to
stay until after the event passes or be part of the relief team.
Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed for each
emergency event, as impacts vary. By signing the travel contract
for this position, you accept the above requirements. You should
not apply for this role if you are not comfortable with these
expectations. Patient diagnoses may include chest pain, coronary
artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, arrhythmias, diabetes
mellitus, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease exacerbation,
pneumonia, hypertension, myocardial infarction, renal failure,
pulmonary embolism, congestive heart failure, gastrointestinal
bleed, and syncope. There is always a potential for
medical-surgical overflow. Special procedures include pre/post
catheterization lab procedures, pacemaker/automated internal
cardioverter defibrillator management, ablations post-cardiac
surgery, and various vascular surgeries. You will be required to
titrate drips such as Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine,
Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, and heparin. Sheath pulling will be done
at the bedside. You will be expected to manage wounds, including
the use of wound vacs. Comfort with telemetry monitoring is
essential. Every other holiday is required, with the possibility of
being pulled to other inpatient units. There are no guarantees for
specific scheduling requests. Daily patient ratios are typically
6:1. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics. You
will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team that includes
