JOB OVERVIEW Job Title: Emergency Medicine Physician Emergency Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Lafayette, LA Service Setting: Hospital Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: June 2025 12 months Clinical Shift Schedule: 7a7p, 7p7a COVERAGE DATES June 2025 ongoing (12-month commitment) Minimum: 7 shifts/month Preferred: 20 shifts/month (2 FT MDs needed) PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adults Patient Volume/Census: 49 patients/day Admissions: 5% admission rate Case Mix: Emergency Medicine, general FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department: 14 ED beds Trauma Level: Level II EMR System: Ochsner EPIC Specialty Backup Available: Cardiology, Orthopedics, IM, Radiology, FP, Pathology, Surgery, Urology, ICU, CCU, SICU Support Staff Available: NPPA coverage (12 hours/day) PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Temporary Privileges Available: Yes Active LA license & clean file only Credentialing Timeline: 3060 days COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active Louisiana license required Board: BC EM/IM/FM Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS (required if not BCEM) Experience: Residency-trained in EM/IM/FP with EM experience Other Qualifications: Must complete VPMA interview, EMR (EPIC) training & orientation DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide 12-hour ED coverage in a Level II trauma center Perform standard emergency medicine procedures Collaborate with NPPA staff and specialty backup Participate in EMR documentation using Ochsner EPIC Maintain credentialing and licensing requirements Top Reasons to Choose a Locum Tenens Assignment Contribute to global health initiatives by participating in international locum assignments, addressing healthcare disparities and supporting healthcare infrastructure development.
