working with Cynet Health to find a qualified NICU RN in Lafayette,
Louisiana, 70503! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing
Specialty: NICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in specialty nursing required
License: Current nursing license required Certifications: BLS & NRP
required Must-Have: Emergency Team assignment may occur during
assignment. Comfort with emergency event protocols is necessary.
Epic charting system experience is required. Post-operative
experience is required. Experience with a patient ratio of 1:3 is
necessary. Charge experience is preferable. Floating to mother baby
and pediatrics units may be required. Weekend coverage is required
every other weekend. Description: We are seeking a registered nurse
specialized in NICU. The average daily census in the unit is 30
patients. Patients are neonates and infants with varying diagnoses.
Experience with respiratory distress syndrome, neonatal abstinence
syndrome, and thermoregulation is essential. Skills in
administration of medications, blood product management, and
phototherapy are required. Knowledge of umbilical line placement
and management is preferred. Nurses will collaborate with
interdisciplinary teams to provide care. The unit operates with a
high focus on developmental care for neonates. Candidates must have
strong critical thinking and communicative skills. Travel
experience is required. Candidates who have worked as permanent
staff must have been separated for at least one year before
applying. All certifications must be current and verifiable. 5
