or integrity. Overview:The primary role of the Biolab Lake Charles
Engineering Manager is to provide technical expertise and
leadership to the plant. The Engineering Manager is responsible for
managing the plant product, process, and project engineering
resources to achieve the plant's safety, quality, and production
objectives. This includes alignment with the Company's values,
regulatory and safety programs, and relevant industry
standards.Essential Job Functions Responsible for managing and
providing leadership to site engineering resources, including a
Production Engineer, a Process Reliability, and a Capital Projects
Engineer. Plans and directs the day-to-day activities of the
engineering team. Provide support to site operations in line with
production demands and business goals by delivering an effective
and efficient service across all interface areas. Identify and
track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the engineering team
(project budgets, schedule compliance, planning accuracy, etc.).
Drive continuous process improvement through the use of KPI
metrics.Provide troubleshooting and problem-solving expertise in
support of Production and Maintenance.Responsible for developing,
implementing, and maintaining the sitewide Infrastructure Integrity
Program (IIP). This includes program management of vessels, piping,
metal structures, steam boilers, sitewide well, fire water systems,
rail-road spur systems, and warehouses.Responsible for developing
and maintaining the Management of Change (MoC) program, which
includes but is not limited to site engineering specifications,
P&IDs, schematics, software, etc. Responsible for developing
and maintaining the sitewide Process Safety Management (PSM) /
HAZOP program and the site Nuclear Instrument Program.Liaison with
statutory, industry and academic bodies on matters relating to
construction, inspection, operation, and maintenance of chemical
manufacturing facilities.Implementation and control of standards
used in the inspection, operation, and maintenance of plant and
equipment to maintain the appropriate level of
integrity.Responsible for changes to existing plant and equipment
to appropriate standards within the Management of Change
Program.Maintain and communicate knowledge of best practices, new
regulations, and standards to ensure site operations meet
regulatory requirementsResponsible for developing, implementing,
and maintaining the sitewide Document Management Program
(DMP).Serves as the primary interface to the Biolab product
Research and Development (R&D) group as well as to the Biolab
customer plants, which use product streams produced by the Lake
Charles plant.Identify long-term process improvement opportunities
for optimized equipment utilization and process efficiencies,
margin improvement, reliability, and energy utilization.Coordinates
with the Leadership to develop, maintain and execute the
appropriate process and engineering standards to ensure production
reliability, equipment sustainability, and quality
assurance.Maintain a good understanding of industry standards,
regulations, and codes, including ASME, NFPA, ASME, OSHA, and
local, state & federal regulations.Collaborate with Operations and
Maintenance teams to ensure proper planning, scheduling of labor
and equipment, budgeting, and engineering coverage for
turn-arounds.Maintain departmental budget by reviewing financial
statements, monitoring efficiencies, labor cost, and other
department expenses.Work extended hours, including nights and
weekends, in a chemical plant environment and during periods of
inclement weather. Access areas of plant using stairs and/or
ladders to inspect process and mechanical equipment. Respond to
trouble conditions as needed, including during off-hours.
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical
Engineering with 7-10 years of experience in chemical plant
engineering and operations. Minimum of 5 years of Engineering
management experience required with demonstrated ability to manage,
lead and motivate plant engineering teams. Strong knowledge of
chemical manufacturing practices, process systems, liquids handling
and processing, solids handling and processing, and hazardous
chemical handling and storage is mandatory. Strong knowledge of
quality assurance and control practices and in PSM / HAZOP
programs. Strong knowledge in engineering and construction
standards, materials, and companies/vendors processes Experience in
managing capital projects, large equipment purchases, installation
and qualification, and building construction or retrofit. Ability
to understand business objectives, strategies, and directions and
develop and implement action plans accordingly. Ability to handle
multiple priorities and remain focused and organized. Ability to
effectively delegate responsibility and manage the work activities
of others. Ability to establish goals and objectives which are
specific, measurable, achievable, and relevant. Strong
communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and
organizational skills, and the ability to establish and maintain
effective working relationships with all levels of staff and
contractors Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications in
addition to SAP and Project Management software such as Smartsheet
or MS Project. Must possess a positive attitude, be team-oriented,
ambitious, quality-driven, and of the highest integrity Strong
communication skills, oral and written. Ability to travel (up to
