Summary of Description:
Perform limited tasks and calculations necessary for engineering
and design efforts supporting construction drawings and packages
under the guidance of a supervising engineer.
Duties:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science Degree in a related discipline from an
accredited university with 0-3 years of experience in refinery,
petrochemical, chemical, offshore, pipeline or utility industries;
or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient
to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as
those listed above.
License Requirements:
Valid Driver's License as per State law or requirement
Engineer Intern (E.I.) certification preferred
Specific Skills:
AutoCAD experience preferred.
Basic computer skills Microsoft Office and Outlook or similar
software.
Knowledge of regulatory codes and requirements for the related
discipline preferred.
Understanding of basic engineering principles and application.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to walk up to one mile on industrial plant and construction
sites outdoors at any time of the year.
Ability to work in protective clothing which may elevate body
temperatures by several degrees Fahrenheit for periods of up to 15
minutes without a break.
Ability to use multi-level stair towers and rung ladders
unassisted.
Ability to hear safety alarms and signals while wearing hearing
protection.
Ability to sit at desk and operate computer for extended periods of
time.
Ability to stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel;
reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch
or crawl; and talk and hear.
Ability to see with visual acuity and distinguish between
colors.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid driver's
license.
Ability to lift and carry 15 lbs. on a regular basis is required
and at times lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required.
Requirements
*Due to in plant position the below referenced Job Duties have been
provided by client:
Job Requirements:
--- Strong preference for candidates who live within 60 minutes of
the refinery
--- Execute projects per the Phillips 66 and LCR project FEL
process and ensures conformance with Phillips 66 Required Standards
and Recommended Engineering Practices
--- Direct the development of AFD and AFE quality project
estimates, participate in annual capital long range plan
development, and ongoing project funding approvals.
--- Coordinate the FEL and detailed engineering with mechanical,
civil, instrument and electrical resources to ensure assigned
projects are technically sound, cost effective and
customer-focused
--- Develop project execution plans and project milestone
schedules. Ensure project scope and cost is controlled and change
is managed.
--- Provide project-specific turnaround and construction support as
required.
--- Establish project priorities, deliverables and deadlines
aligned with capital strategies. Successfully manage competing
priorities and multiple projects simultaneously. Accountable for
managing time to deliver on commitments
--- Ensures interface with technical consultants, area resources
and operations
--- Coordinates MOC process for assigned projects
--- Design or approve design by others of Safety Instrumented
Systems
--- Provide consultation to refinery for instrumentation issues
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical
Engineering or related field (Chemical or Civil).
- 2 or more years of maintenance and/or engineering experience,
with an emphasis on instrumentation and controls; or an equivalent
combination of education and/or relevant experience.
- Experience in all life cycle phases of Safety Instrumented
Systems.
