SUMMARY/PURPOSE Performs company field operations including manual
labor and other duties necessary to accomplish the installation,
repair, and maintenance of natural gas distribution facilities.
Handles customer requests and represents the Company in the
community. Gas Service Tech I: Initiates gas service and perform
leak investigations and repairs. Locates gas lines. Reads gas
meters. Conduct load surveys. Completes work orders in system for
documentation. Serves as First Responder in emergency situations.
Conducts Cathodic Protection system monitoring activities. Conducts
odorization activities. Gas Service Tech II and III Including all
the above duties in addition to the below. May instruct service
employees as needed. May instruct service employees as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Minimum education required of the position
Requires a high school education or GED. Minimum experience
required of the position Gas Service Tech I: Requires no prior
related work experience. Gas Service Tech II: 2-4 years of
experience in natural gas distribution service work. Gas Service
Tech Ill: 4years of experience in natural gas distribution service
work. Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities of the position

Valid driver’s license Preferred: Must reside within 45 road miles
of the reporting location. Notice: As a safety sensitive position,
compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and Pipeline &
Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) drug and alcohol
regulations is required, including but not limited to
pre-employment drug testing and background screening. Physical
Requirements Able to operate a motor vehicle, including the ability
to enter and exit vehicle unassisted. Able to perform on-site
inspections. Able to operate a personal computer, either desktop or
laptop. Able to sit for extended periods of time. Able to operate a
copy machine, fax machine, calculator, telephone and other
miscellaneous office equipment. Able to exert up to 50 Lbs. of
force occasionally, and /or a minimal amount of force frequently to
lift, carry, push or otherwise move objects. Working Conditions The

office environment with normal noise levels. Work is predominately
done while standing or sitting. The ability to comprehend,

work daily in all types of weather conditions. Able to work regular
hours, with occasional overtime. Able to handle emergency
situations, including possible exposure to gaseous atmospheres on
occasion. Able to work rotating shifts, if required. Able to
respond to emergency calls and/or callouts and occasionally return
to work while off duty. Able to wear and operate personal
protective equipment, such as respirator, safety glasses, hardhat,
gloves, protective footwear and earplugs daily. Able to be included
in random drug screen pool required for DOT drivers and DOT safety
sensitive positions. May be required to remain in the service area
during emergency events and assume responsibilities assigned by the
