Job Description:
Louisiana Bridge Builders (“LBB”) is design ing and building the
new I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge in Lake Charles, Louisiana (USA)
for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development
(LADOTD). LBB will also be responsible for the reconstruction of
interstate highway, various structures, ramps, and ap proaches for
a 5.5 mile stretch between I-210 West End and Ryan Street.

The Laborer I is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders
by performing general physical labor on Project site including but
not limited to loading/unloading materials, site cleanup, and
assisting skilled trades. LOCATION This position is based in Lake
Charles, LA. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Clean and prepare
construction project site by removing debris and possible hazards.
Lubricate and clean machinery, equipment, and tools. Load or unload
materials to be used during construction. Erect and disassemble
temporary structures. Dig trenches, backfill holes, or compact
earth to prepare for construction. Operate power tools and hand
tools. Assist skilled trades, such as electricians and carpenters,
with their duties. Perform all tasks efficiently and safely.
Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, & SKILLS FOR SUCCESS Effectively communicate
in a positive and professional manner through written and verbal
communications in all interfaces with customers/public, fellow
employees, vendors, etc. Ability to understand, follow, and
transmit written and oral instructions. Ability to work as a team
member and exert initiative to work independently to reach a goal.
Ability to embrace change in the workplace while encouraging others
to seek innovative approaches. Ability to function effectively as a
team player and collaborator. Ability to work a flexible work
schedule, additional and/or different hours, including but not
limited to nights, weekends, and/or holidays, as needed, to best
serve the business operations. Ability to use hand tools, power
tools, and layout tools safe and efficiently. QUALIFICATIONS The
Laborer I position is an entry level role that requires working
knowledge, skills, and abilities as they relate to the position.
One (1) years of construction labor/helper experience is preferred.
