Senior Quality Specialist
This position is located in Lake Charles, LA
Summary
As part of the Site Leadership Team reporting to the Total Quality
Manager (Corporate Quality Assurance), the Senior Quality
Specialist is the site leader for quality assurance, quality
control, and quality improvement. The Senior Quality Specialist
will be building a QMS system and quality culture from the ground
up to enhance the site's capabilities. The Senior Quality
Specialist develops, implements, and manages quality systems
designed to ensure continuous production of advanced composite
materials and applications (consistent with established standards,
customer specifications and Cremer goals). This role engages
suppliers, customers, and other Cremer sites with limited travel
expectations (
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- B.A. or B.S degree or equivalent combination of experience and
education.
- 3+ years of progressive experience managing quality control in
an industrial or cGMP manufacturing setting.
- Experience with ISO 9001, HACCP, cGMP, IPEC, and other programs
(e.g., GFSI, Halal, Kosher, RSPO).
- Experience in obtaining an ISO 9001 certification for a
manufacturing company preferred.
- Chemical processing experience and/or knowledge of chemistry
are highly valued.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and maintain the quality management system for the site
that meets company, customers and regulatory needs.
- Secure and maintain ISO 9001 certification and compliance to
relevant current Good Manufacturing Practices for customer
products.
- Build a quality culture at the site impacting all team
members.
- Initiate and establish key quality processes and procedures to
meet compliance needs.
- Coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation
with production team to maximize product reliability and minimize
costs.
- Represent company as single point of contact on quality issues
with suppliers and customers, inclusive of root cause
investigations, countermeasure development, and formal responses
through customer-required systems.
- Collaborate and provide Quality Assurance support to other
Cremer sites and future M&A locations as requested by
management including CVP- Dayton, TN location.
- Establish a continuous improvement quality environment,
challenging others to improve individual and group performance,
engaging the entire workforce.
- Build and maintain a quality department staff by recruiting,
selecting, orienting, and training employees when the business need
presents itself.
- Maintains quality department staff job results by coaching,
counseling, and disciplining employees planning, monitoring, and
appraising job results.
- Align assigned team with organizational objectives through key
performance indicator development and maintain focus through daily
huddles, one-on-ones, and other meetings, as necessary, inclusive
of daily work assignments.
- Communicate progress toward key performance indicator goal
attainment through daily management boards (i.e., huddle boards),
where appropriate.
- Collaborate with other members of management to develop new
manufacturing processes, and training methods.
- Maintain and improve product quality by completing product,
system, and surveillance audits.
- Monitor inputs related to ensuring employees conform to
production or processing standards.
- Review new business opportunities to ensure current standards
meet customer expectations and partner to develop processes with
internal colleagues and customer to develop methods if current
processes do not meet customer expectations.
- Create, document, and implement inspection criteria and
procedures to ensure timely release of produced goods. If
applicable, work with Laboratory team to perform any release
testing for Certificate of Analysis.
- Provide, and oversee, inspection activity for product
throughout production cycle.
- Lead site management of change process, while supporting others
in their change initiatives with advice, expertise, and
review.
- Facilitate critical (e.g., repeating, severity) nonconformance
investigations, while supporting others in their nonconformance
investigations as needed.
- Serve as member of HACCP team.
- Administer electronic quality management system (IQS) to ensure
managements of change, nonconformance investigations, and
corrective actions meet internal and external
expectations.
- Participate in internal/external audits and execute site
corporate quality programs/certifications.
- Complete all required training assignments and leadership
requests.
- Adhere to all site environmental, health, safety, and security
requirements, local, state, and federal regulations.
- Follow all RC14001 guiding principles, policies, procedures,
and other requirements.
