Registered Nurse (RN) | Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Location: Lafayette, LA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,038 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/30/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: NICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Compact or state license required Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: - Previous charge experience - Epic charting system experience - Post-op experience - Travel experience required Description: This position requires the ability to work with neonates and infants in a NICU setting. The average daily census in the unit is 30 patients, maintaining a patient ratio of 1:3. Travelers may be assigned to an "Emergency Team" during critical situations. Compliance to unit manager assignments during emergency events is mandatory. Candidates should be comfortable with potential floating to mother-baby and pediatrics units. Weekend coverage is expected every other weekend. Experience with patient diagnoses such as prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, hypoglycemia, and congenital anomalies is essential. Skills required include monitoring blood glucose, phototherapy, intravenous management, and neonatal dosage calculations. Interdisciplinary support is available from respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. The unit performs special procedures including umbilical lines, lumbar punctures, and intubations. Candidates should have a clear understanding of thermoregulation and respiratory distress management. Travelers from the local area are not accepted; candidates must be residing over 65 miles from the facility. Please ensure all required certifications are up to date prior to submission.
